A Few Words About Us

Premier Energy Services began operations in 2002 as a contractor for the natural gas utility industry.  Premier’s original vision was to be an engineering and construction company offering safe, reliable, and cost-efficient services to local utilities.  From humble beginnings, Premier really took its transforming step in 2006 by bringing in an experienced Superintendent to lead its construction operations.  Rick Rizzardi joined Premier in January 2006, and quickly helped to shape Premier’s reputation for quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.  Rick’s vast experience in all aspects of natural gas distribution construction and maintenance, and dedication to providing what our customers need, has been an integral reason for our success.

In order to sustain our rapid growth and fulfill our customer commitments, the need to add complementary skills and experience to our management team became a priority.  In January 2009, Denny Glenn joined the company as Superintendent of Superior Utility Operations, after working for Duke Energy and its predecessors for 32 years.  Superior Utility Operations was formed as a division within our overall corporate structure to focus on the operations of a local gas distribution company (LDC) in Southeastern Indiana.  Denny directs the daily operations of our crews working at Sycamore Gas.  Superior also provides engineering and technical services to an LDC and a Master Meter Operator in Southwestern Ohio.

The growth of our companies also required us to bring an even greater focus to safety and training by hiring Mark Prebble in January 2010, upon his retirement from Duke Energy after 39 years of service.  One of Mark’s duties while at Duke was to help establish a training program for contractors when Cinergy Corp. (Duke’s predecessor) began its Accelerated Main Replacement Program in the early 2000’s.  Along with his vast knowledge of distribution construction and maintenance, this experience has allowed Mark to do a great job of putting a comprehensive safety and training program into place at our companies.

Led by John Stenger, Owner and President, we currently operate in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, and Pennsylvania.  We continue to look for growth opportunities, and for ways to improve the service that we provide to our customers.  We have built a comprehensive training lab at our headquarters, and are certified to provide Operator Qualification training and evaluation through both the Midwest Energy Association (MEA) and Industrial Training Services (ITS).  Total customer satisfaction is a goal that we take seriously.  Having well-trained employees, and looking at our work through our customer’s eyes have given us the ability to continue to meet our original vision of providing safe, reliable, and cost-efficient services.
